About the Friends
Our vision is to keep Burntisland Old Parish Church as a publicly accessible heritage asset for the foreseeable future and for the good of the community. The group wishes to retain and conserve the building and as much of its historical features and art as possible.
The Friends of Burntisland Old Parish Church (FoBOPC) working group is now a constituted community group with a bank account. The group has a Chair, Secretary, Treasurer and five other committee members. The FoBOPC group has been meeting monthly since its formation in March 2025.
We have until December 2027 to secure the building’s future either through a national body (such as Historic Churches Scotland) taking ownership of the church or through a community purchase. Our aim is to preserve its history while also providing new opportunities for social, cultural, and economic activity within the town.
